I have had several photos taken at that cemetery also of relative's sites. She was helpful on the phone with looking up locations of 2 grave sites for me. May be it was the person on duty today who felt that way about photos. I know that if you check out Find A Grave site there are photos from Calvary Cemetery. All the Genealogists books suggest you check out cemeteries for info on ancestors and suggest you take photo of grave stone. But than there is a different policy at churches on getting baptismal records etc. and they change their policy. I had luck for about a year in contacting different churches in New York for information on ancestors. I always wrote letter and followed up with phone call. I always gave them a donation. At first they would supply the information and than recently I was told they couldn't give it out any more. I don't know if it is total privacy issue even thou the people I was asking about were 75 to 1! 00 years ago and were deceased or if they are getting too many requests. There are a lot of people doing genealogy research. However, sometimes this is only way to prove birth date. All the genealogy book say to do this. I have always paid for any information I get . Has any one else had this experience. dng Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
