In 1903, Queens County was part of Greater New York City for five years Did you search the Queens Death Index films located at the NYC Municipal Archives? If you share the name of the deceased party, perhaps one of us may help you find the death certificate. Perhaps the "problem" is the spelling of the surname. Whether a coroner's report was performed or not, your search sounds accurate. Without them, the posts are useless as most of us don't have time to look at generic subject posts. THANKS. I see some of you have begun doing this. I am a new member and would like to submit the name in my ancestry that relates to Queens. In the early 1900's my Opa (grandpa) emigrated from Westphalia, Germany. The town they were from was Ilvese. Church records were from Heimsen because Ilvese was too small to have a church. Their last name was Luebkemann. Some family members changed it to Lubkeman. They moved to Woodhaven. One sister married into the David family and another married a Koster. Would any one have any memories to share with me? Regards, Ghyll
Seeking info about Hock/Hoch and Lehn families, probably in Astoria, in the 1800s. They probably emigrated from Germany, possibly the Baden area. D.Moritz
