    3. I believe there was a Walter Bond who lived in Lynbrook in the 194-60s. I think his son was in the Malverne High school class of 1960. Some students who had a mailing address of Lynbrook were geographically assigned to the Malverne High School. The Bond dfamily may have lived on Charles Street or close to it. My father was a letter carrier and delivered mail to the Bond family. Valerie of the Malverne High School class of 1961 --- deliaesther@att.net wrote: > Hi all, > My 3rd great-grandfather, Walter J. 3. Brian I sent you a scan from Ancestry offlist. But when I doublechecked the dates, the son Peter is too young to be yours. Unless the census taker was wrong, which is always possible. I've looked through all the QUINNS in Queens but none seem to be the right match for yours. Also, have you considered looking in another borough? I know that Peter was born in Queens in 1860 and you find the family in Queens in 1900, but it is possible that they lived somewhere else as well. Good luck with your search! Lisa * * * *

    2. Hi all, My 3rd great-grandfather, Walter J. Bond was born in England about 1833. In the 1850 census of New York, he was living in Queens with a Zachary Story and his family. In hte 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses Walter and his wife, Louisa were always in Queens. Louisa's maiden name was Jackson. They had at least 8 children; 1. William Bond 1851-1910, md. Phebe Ann, no children 2. Robert A. Bond 1854/55-1939(my 2nd great-grandfather) md. Lillian Mundell, 2 children 3. Millard Fillmore Bond 1859-1930's, md. Angeline, 1 daughter 4. Annie E. Bond 1862-1940, md. Charles H. Sammons, 1 son 5. Franklin Joseph Bond 1865-1930's, md. Nellie F., 4 children 6. John B. Bond 1868-after 1910, md. Agnes, 1 daughter 7. Seaman Lewis Bond 1873-after 1939, md. Cynthia Abrams, 3 children 8. Clara E. Bond 1878/79-after 1939, md. Lewis Driscoll, 11 children I have more info. If any one is related to this family or has any more information on them please e-mail me at; deliaesther@att.net I just found out recently that my Robert A. Bond is buried in Greenfield cemetery in Hempstead, so of course I wonder if any of the rest of his family is buried there, I know his brother William and his wife are not because they are buried in Rockville cemetery in Lynbrook. Thank you very much. God bless, Beth

    1. Peter Quinn, Queens NY
    2. Brian Smith
    3. Hi: My first post to this list. I am searching for the parents of Peter Quinn, born Queens NY, Jul 1860. He married Emma (?) Quinn circa 1884 and they had two children, Mary Quinn (1885-?) and Charles F. Quinn (1887-1949). In the 1900 Census, Peter's mother Mary ( born Ireland 1842- aft. 1900) is living with them. Although the 1900 Census indicates that Peter's mother Mary, came to the US in 1859, can find no record of her in the 1880 Census. Visited the NYC Vital Records Web site and it appears that records for Queens during this timeframe are limited. Any help appreciated! Thanks, Brian

I know the general area within Hempstead, but would like to now get more specific as to where my ancestor owned land. Do maps from this time period exsist that show land owners names on it?" First, not knowing if you are aware that on January 1, 1899, the eastern three-quarters of Queens County, the Towns of North Hempstead, Hempstead and Oyster Bay, seceded from Queens County and formed Nassau County. Second, for questions such as yours, you may want to check with the Town Clerk of the Town of Hempstead, the Long Island Studies Institute and the Queens Borough Public Library, in that order: The Town Clerk of the Town of J\Hempstead is also the custodian of town records dating back to 1644 and maintains an inactive records center and historical archive. You can call or write to library as most have local newspapers on microfilm and will do a search for a fee. Email or call them for the charges. Hope this will be of some help to you.

I am not familar any more with the Hollis or Jamacia Avenue Catholic churches. You will find all churches listed for the Diocese of Brooklyn on their web site. The church may be able to tell you which funeral home was used.

Perhaps if you give us her religion it might help us with giving you the name of cemeteries. There are so many in Queens County. Go for the death cert first....that will tell you place of death. I have never found the cost of an internment list to be very expensive and if you have the right information you will get much for your money.

I would suggest you try www.usgenweb.com for New York and look under Queens. Might give you some help as where to look. I know that the cemeteries charge for any information on burial sites and it is costly. Probably you best bet would be a death certificate. Request a genealogy death certificate which does not have the seal but all the information on it. Cost is I think around $22 instead of $30. You don't need an address only the month, date (if possible) and year. I know there are several cemeteries in Queens and if you do a google search it will give you sites to search (www.google.com). Not much help with direct information but hope what I gave you will give you some direction.
