    3. Elizabeth, I apologize for not reading your original post more clearly in regard to Jacob's wife's name (Elizabeth, rather than Eva). I suspect that the 1900 & 1900 censuses I transcribed to the list may be for Jacob & Elizabeth's son, Jacob, who is listed with them in the 1880 census and was born about 1853/1854. It's very helpful when posting a query like yours to mention when the people were born, as it helps us to eliminate non-matches. On the 1880 census, the family (Jacob age 62, Elizabeth age 54, Jacob jr. age 26, William age 22 and Louis age 20) is listed as living on Borden Avenue. [Source: 1880, NY, Queens, Long Island City, Page 9, Supervisor's District 2d, ED 280 (page stamped 27 and A)]. Elizabeth V Cardinal <evc1369@comcast.net> wrote: I doubt that is mine.... Jacob was born in 1818 and was 62 in 1880. Elisabeth was born in 1826 and was 54 in 1880. It is possible they called her Eva. Elizabeth Elizabeth V. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WUB.2ACI/1314 Message Board Post: Hello: Does anyone know if the NYC Department of Health "whites out" Social Security Numbers from death certificates when they make copies for genealogy requests?? I have a copy of my great grandfathers death certificate from 1951. In the column for SS Numbers it is just blank. Usually if the person had no SS Number it would often say "none" I could swear that if you hold it up a certain way it looks like it is a little discolored. However, it is hard to tell from the safety paper they use. I would think that he had a SS Number as he was working during the period of time SS Numbers were issued. Just wanted to see because i want to send for a copy of his Social Security Application....however, if you dont have the number it costs a little more for the request. I dont mind that...but what i would hate is to send the money for the request and find he did not have a number. So...this is why i am inquiring regarding whether NYC-DOH does remove the numbers when processing a request. If someone could let me know i would appreciate it. My great grandfather was George S. Booth, Jr and he died in Kings County Hospital on June 26, 1951. Thanks, JIM BOOTH Highland Mills, Orange County, NY jbooth75@optonline.net

    1. Mother in census?
    2. I cannot seem to find my mother, Josephine Mary Williams - b. 6/1/29, in the Woodhaven, Queens census for 1930. She would have been about 6 months old, living with her grandparents, James J. She was actually born in the Bronx, but is not listed there either, neither is her mother, Josephine Mary Ryan, age 24 at the birth of my mother.
