    3. Folks, NARA-NYC is holding a free workshop on Wednesday, August 24th, at 2:00 PM. Presented by: Linda Blaser, National Preservation Officer for the National Archives Regional Records Office. Location: The National Archives, New York Regional Facility, 201 Varick Street, 12th floor, New York NY 10014-4811 Participants will learn about proper storage of family documents, photographs, home movies, digital images, and other items to ensure that these treasures will survive poor environmental conditions. They will view samples of bad practices to gain a full understanding of what can go wrong and why. Attendees are welcome to bring one item for conservation advice, which will be given in an open forum at the end of the lecture. If a document or photograph is in need of repair, information about how to obtain reliable conservation assistance will be provided. His father was from New York. I believe his father was Nicholls Wells. I found them living next door to each other on the 1880 Jackson, Alabama census. Nicholls was born in New York around 1814. I believe Nicholls is a Jr. One of Obadiah's daughters is my great grandmother. I would like to learn more about the Wells family. Eager to hear from anyone who may be connected to this family.

I would suggest you try your local library and see if they have an InterLoan Program where you can get the newspaper on microfilm from Queens Library. I know they have such a program in Michigan and was told that it works throughout the country. Otherwise you can write to Queens Library and they will get the death notices for you.     3. If you are a descendant of the person who purchased a grave or graves. They need to know who to contact for any number of reasons. It doesn't matter if you hold the deed or the deed was lost. I realize they may send you a bill for annual care and perpetual care but you DO NOT have to pay it. By letting them know who you are they can never say the grave was abandoned. Elizabeth V.
