    1. Re: [NYQUEENS] Roll Call Tromba, Michalsen, Michaelsen, Kristiansen, Requena,
    2. I agree that Roll calls are largely a waste of time. Personally, after the first day's blitz of emails I take to deleting unopened all that do not have a specific Surname I'm researching in the subject line. Now if someone lists 18 surnames and only four can appear on the subject line clearly I will miss 14 of those they would like me to know about! IF on opening an inquiry it is clear to me it is someone who has done little to no research but is looking for a quick fix from someone else's hard work, I don't respond. I believe Roll Calls should not happen more than once per year if at all and last for no more than a predetermined & published time not to exceed a week! Back to deleting! -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Mon, Feb 22, 2010 7:23 am Subject: Re: [NYQUEENS] Roll Call Tromba, Michalsen, Michaelsen, Kristiansen, Requena, Looking for Smith and Jones. 1. [NYQUEENS] A helpfull tip from one of our members
    2. Gerald Tobin
    3. Jerry. If we must have another roll call please ask folk to list the surnames they are researching in the subject line and only as many per message as will display. As the volume of messages increases most people will simply delete any not listing the surnames of interest in a way that can be quickly scanned. Also a definite end date for the roll call would be helpful. Thanks G.McC. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gerald Tobin Sent: Sunday, February 21, 2010 7:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NYQUEENS] Roll CaLL Hi List, The list has become very quiet it's time for another Roll Call. 1. [NYQUEENS] School Photos
    2. I am new to this list and I am looking for a cousin, she would be abt 75 . The name she always went by as far as I know was Eleanor Melville. Melville was our grandmothers name. She was raised in NY and in the 60's when our grandmother died she signed the funeral book as Eleanor Melville. I remember seeing a pic of her when I was a child.  Is there a mailing list  for school photos where some one would look her up? Any help appreciated. Pat CA
