Author: aoifaa Surnames: Corrigan Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.queens/4212/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, I am looking for the families of Nicholas P Corrigan born in Ireland in 1919. He emigrated to the United States and enlisted in the Army in 1941 in Jamacia NY. He was in the First Army 953rd Artillery Battalion : Battery B. His army # was 32115416. If still alive today day Nicholas would be approx 91 years of age. I have reason to believe that after the war he came to live in Flushings Long Island, Queens NY. My Grandmother showed me a letter written during the war from Nicholas (who would be her Uncle) to her father George Corrigan and mother "Lil" - and she would like to find him or his family! Can anyone help me out? Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I feel the same way. The parents are my Great Great Grandparents. They had 9 children. All the children who died young are buried with them in Calvary. I just can't believe they wouldn't bury this first child where death certificate says. The Mother, my Great Grandmother's parents are buried in next plot. I had clerk check there too. Someone must not of posted this burial. If any one goes to Calvary maybe they can look at graves. They are buried at Section 8L #6 and #7. If someone does, can they send names listed? Why would a child be buried in Potters Field on Hart Island and the parebnts are in Ca;vary.. I checked on burial of relative today. The death certificate says the child Matteo Cornetta was buried in Calvary on April 17, 1892. They checked all there records and can find no burial. Person suggested maybe buried on Hart Island. Does anyone know how you get list for Hart's Island and who you call? I looked up Hart's Island and could find no list but that someone was working on list. Otherwise does anyone have any other suggestion as to why death certificate says Calvary? The Mother and Father of child are buried in Calvary. 1. [NYQUEENS] NYC tax photos
    2. In addition to the "NYC web site identifies buildings in NYC", http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/nycitymap , there is also a NYC web site where you can obtain a photograph of the building or house where you or your ancestors lived in New York City. Between 1939 and 1941, NYC photographed every house and building in each of the five boroughs: http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/taxphotos/home.shtml I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting. 3. GREAT SITE THANK YOU According to http://www.avotaynu.com/nu/V11N09.htm: Would you like a more graphic representation of the building where your ancestors lived in New York City? http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/nycitymap The above URL is the NYC government site where you key in a specific address and the result is a map of the area showing an outline of every building. After locating a building, click "Show Additional Information" and data will be provided such as lot frontage, depth and area; year built; gross floor area; number of residential units; and whether it has been designated as a Landmark building. I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting.
