But this is not the bank I was looking. I'm looking for the location of the Bank of Long Island branch in Woodhaven. I now see why you said: "I am not sure where you got that information, but it seems to be at odds with the official records and accounts of the time." You also mentioned: "Queens County Bank in Long Island City and the Woodhaven Bank in Woodhaven." I'm not looking for the Queens County Bank of Long Island City nor the Woodhaven Bank. I'm looking for the location of The Bank of Long Island branch in Woodhaven Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. At the time of the merger in thr fall of 1902, the newly formed Bank of Long Island consolidated all of ther banking activity in Queens County except the Queens County Bank in Long Island City and the Woodhaven Bank in Woodhaven. Neither of these banks were ever affiliated with the Bank of Long Island. The Woodhaven Bank was at University Pl. c. Clinton Pl. Also, do you have a complete name as the NYS Banking Deprtment has 3 banks that were originally named Bank of Long Island. The most likely candidate was the one founded in 1902 by the merger of: Bank of Jamaica Flushing Bank Far Rockaway Bank First National Bank of Corona By the time it was acquired by the Bank of the Manhattan Company in 1920 it had 13 brances, all in Queens; but, I could find no hard evidence that one of those branches was in Woodhaven. What are you actually trying to ascertain? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
