Do you have any connection to a Fallon family who lived in Columbia County (town of Canaan)in the 1850's and 1860's? They also arrived in the US in the late 1840's, may have spent a couple of years around Philadelphia and then moved to Canaan, NY. They then moved to Connecticut in the 1880's. -----Original Message----- From: nyputnam-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nyputnam-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Karen A Kanning Sent: Saturday, October 03, 2009 11:15 AM To: NYPUTNAM-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYPUTNAM] Roll Call---Bride, Casey, Fallon, Ginley Researching John Bride who immigrated from Ireland 1848/49. I found him and his wife Johanna (Casey) in 1850 census in Cold Spring. I last found him in the 1880 census still living there. Would like to know when and from where he immigrated, when he died and where he is buried though I suspect in the Cold Spring Cemetery. Johanna died between 1860-70 and is likely buried in Cold Spring, too, though I can find no record. I have indications that John had a brother Jeremiah and a mother Mary but after 1850 they disappear. They had four children who survived to adulthood--James who relocated to Lockport and married Sarah Douglas, John who married Cecelia Fallon, Annie who married James Ginley and Margaret who married William Olvany and relocated to NYC. His children John and Annie lived in both Newburgh and Beacon after their father died. John Sr's four children are all buried in the Old Cold Spring Cemetery (as well as a Mary Eleanor who died at age 3) leading me to conclude that John Sr and Johanna are there, too. ____________________________________________________________ Medical Billing Careers Click here for a Medical Billing Career.
