The following is from James Ireland's pension file - my 3rd grt grdfather. We have proved our Ireland line back to Thomas Ireland of L.I., NY. But we haven't found any positive proof for the parents of his wife Nancy Shaw. Our best guess is Ebenezer Shaw & Dorcas Mosher/Mosier. James & Nancy lived in Philipstown (1820-1830 census) & by 1850 were in Fishkill, NY. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions application for Pension by James Ireland James Ireland & Nancy Shaw were married December 28, 1815. James Ireland was born March 27, 1719 [error it was 1790]; Nancy Ireland wife of the above was born May 2, 1799; James Ireland was born May 26, 1838. James Ireland died May 16, 1855; Nancy Ireland wife of James Ireland died August 10, 1844 [error it was 1864]. This is to certify that I have examined the family record of which the above is an exact copy and find that there is no alterations or erasures. Dated: July 17, 1908 and signed by Lewis H. Little, Notary Public Fishkill on Hudson, NY My father's cousin wrote the following but I don't know what her sources were: "James Baker was a local preacher in Beacon, NY. His sister, Hannah Baker married a Shaw. Their unkn. Shaw son married Dorcus Mosher. They had 3 children: daughter Nancy Shaw married James Ireland (Cold Spring) and their daughter Frelove or (Freelove) Ireland married John B. Hawks." Jean
