I believe that Philip H Smith who wrote "General history of Duchess county, from 1609 to 1876" may have been Charles E Smith's brother. Horace and Ruth are buried in The Old Baptist Church Burial Ground at Carmel, Putnam Co., NY. Mila Smith Hubbard was my grandmother and I can remember talk about Aunt Alida. I do have a copy of an obituary for Charles Smith from the Clark Pilot Review in 1894 copied by Vernon Smith. My e-mail is gmonson@sbtc.net if you haven't got this.
