I have a photo of the home that is "the farm in Brewster" that my dad went to as a child, and that I believe to be "Sunny Farms" where my grandmother and grandfather were married. It was his grandparents who either owned it or at least summered there (Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard W. Deicken)- I will attach two photos of the home in case you can recognize the house at all. Of course, I realize homes get renovated and change, or get demolished, but I am pretty sure my dad would still stop at Brewster every now and then on his travels between NJ and Massachusetts (where I live) to drive by the house, and I believe he was able to drive by the house up until the 1990's before he passed on. So, it is my grandmother's family's(the Deicken's) farm which I am looking for in Brewster. Although they (the Deicken's)are listed in the 1920 Census as living in Montclair, NJ, it was my understading that they spent summers up at "the farm in Brewster". It was my grandmother (Elizabeth Deicken) and grandfather (Harry Cordes) were married at "Sunny Farms" (as you saw it said on the Marriage cert.)A baby book of my dad's states in Elizabeth Deicken Cordes' handwriting that they spent his first birthday (Dec. 1922) up in Brewster at "the farm" where "Father and I were married" so I am assuming they were married at the house. I always heard about the farm growing up, but my dad never took me there. Would love to find it and drive by it at some point if I can. My grandfather (Harry Cordes) who was married there... it is his mother who is my connection to Ray Litzau - Harry Cordes' mother is Mathilde Litzau. I read through the Brewster newspaper for the summer of 1920 and I found no marriage notice :( oh well. The search continues... Hopefully that wasn't too confusing! :) Thanks Liz!
