I am looking for clues to earlier generations: my Smiths start with Isaac Adams Smith b. Sep 20 1756 in Canopus Hollow, married three times but my ancestor is Sarah Wixon b. 10 Nov 1767 (d. of Peleg). Their children were Isaac Adams Jr., David, Fannie, and Nathan. In the next generation down there is a Susan Jane, and the next generation has a Sarah Jane, which is why the name perked up my ears - I was thinking that two different branches of the same family may have named daughters for a the same ancestors.
