    2. Hi, I've been following the dialogue re the Second Kent Baptist Church (1118 North Horsepound Road, Carmel, NY) with interest and would like to ask if anyone knew why a letter I drafted to them last May was returned with the notation "No Mail Receptacle". My husband located the headstones of his Brewer/Barhite line in the adjacent cemetery and we were trying to obtain more info on Elizabeth (Brewer) Barhite. Is there any other address available, such as a post office box, to send further inquiries? Thanks for any help. Marg Coley

    2. Fredericksburg, changed it's name to Franklin in 1795, to Paterson in 1808, and then to Patterson in 1850 (with two T's so it wouldn't be confused with Paterson, NJ). Also it was the southernmost part of Dutchess County (it was known as the Philipse Patent area), became Putnam County in 1850. Hope that helps a bit with your research. 3. Not yet. I haven't worked this problem for awhile and I used libraries here in Southern California and Ancestry. I'm not sure I looked at everything on Ancestry that might apply and am not on any paid services. Your suggestions are ones I need to explore. I lose the widow of Jonathan Squire, Mary Reeves Squire and kids until 1791 when she marries Caleb Hendee in Pittsford VT. She and the kids weren't on the census with him if I figured correctly. Her oldest step child, Jonathan Squire (from first marriage) was on the 1790 census. I guess he bought separate land? or.. He also named one of his children Bradley. As far as I can tell, the name doesn't show up in the Squire line until my third great grandfather. I've wondered about the significance of the name if any.
