Hi, It would seem plausible that Sarah Brewer is connected in some way. So far I only have Delilah and possibly James. Do you have Sarah traced back another generation? I'm presently looking at a Henry Brewer as Delilah's father since Delilah named her firstborn son Henry. Henry was listed in Phillipstown in the 1790 census. That's all I have right now. Any info is appreciated. Marg
Hi, I am interested in info on the surname, Cable. My grandfather was William Edward Cable and he was born on 17 Mar 1861. Have no idea where he was born but my father was born in Towners, married in Brewster and moved to Bpt, CT. Would appreciate any help. Dot

I am searching for information about Edwin Crosby Ganung (1834 - 1920) of Union Valley Road in Mahopac. I know a good amount of his life at this point, but what I am most interested is the name of his farm. He lived there from 1870-1920 and I'm positive it had a name. If you look at the 1925 census, the names of the farms are indicated along with all the family members and employees, but he and his wife were already deceased at this point: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ny/county/putnam/Census1925/catownsdata.htm I've looked at earlier census reports and I see no mention of the property names, so this is the only census I've found that shows farm names. Any insight people could lend would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Douglas Kim

His wife, Elizabeth Taylor, was born in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA, in 1716. He is on the Fredericksburgh(Patterson), NY, tax list as early as 1745, and inherited land in Patterson from his father-in-law, Nathan Taylor, in 1765. No record of his birth/marriage can be found. He served in the Dutchess County Militia, Third Regiment. His son, Nathan Palmer, was a vestryman of Christ Church, Episcopal, in 1797, leading to the possibility that he may have been of Scottish origin. Nathan and his wife are buried in this church cemetery, but subsequent generations after Nathan attended Patterson Baptist Church. The family property stayed in the possession of Palmers until after 1900. William Palmer's death date, and location of burial are unknown. Here's how this will work. Each member should send an email to this list and use the words "Roll Call:" in the subject line followed by the surname of someone for whom you are researching in Putnam county. Include in the message area of your email some brief information about the person which includes at the very least the full name of the person you are researching, the town in which s/he lived, and either the date of some event associated with the person and the event or at least a timeframe that s/he lived there. So, let's start this Roll Call. Who knows what connections could be made among all our fellow members! Happy Hunting! This Palmer family is closely connected to the Yale family. ------------------------------ Message: 6 Date: Thu, 1 Oct 2009 11:20:46 -0400 From: "Mosebey, Tracy" <Tracy.Mosebey@mail.house.gov> Subject: [NYPUTNAM] Roll Call To: <nyputnam@rootsweb.com>, <NYPUTNAM-L@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <9282F731B353894B920B44250E6F20A2052070CA@HRM05.US.House.gov> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" KNAPP, Nancy 1837-1904 (wife of William Ellis, daughter of William Knapp) LESLIE, William 1836 - 1921 (arrived at the Port of New York in 1853) ELLIS, William 1836 - 1921 (arrived at the Port of New York in 1853) LESLIE, Beresford 1840 - 1907 (arrived at the Port of New York in 1853 - brother of William Leslie) STEBBINS, Mortimer Clift 1853 - ?
