Wow, it must have been a very long time ago that I put someone in touch with my dad's cousin Ethel Hitt; I have no recollection of it and I'm sure Ethel is long gone. Unfortunately, I've been focusing on other parts of my family and haven't really done anything with Wixon. You can e-mail me at bmpendley@gmail.com. In the meantime, all I can tell you is my g-grandmother was Jasinthe Wixon 1866-1946, who married Rowland Turner 1861-1944. Per my grandmother's notes, Jasinthe had siblings Isaac B., William, Julia, and Sarles. Their parents were Alonzo Wixon 1832-1904 and Elizabeth Purdy Wixon 1831-1908. Also noted is Egbert Wixon d.9/1/1878 and Lola Wixon d.9/21/1887 but I don't know their context. Could this Egbert be a son to your earlier Egbert? Let's figure all this out. -Brian Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Nancy; Yes, her maiden name was Munger often spelled as Monger. She was born abt 1848, her father Benjamin was born in 1797 and her mother Ann was born abt 1815. There are a lot of Benjamin Mungers in New York state about that time. I have not been able to connect any with my family. Thanks for your help and quick response. david munger ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Opdyke" <nancy@netspeed.com.au> To: <nyputnam@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 15, 2009 4:08 PM Subject: Re: [NYPUTNAM] rollcall > Hi David > > Was Munger her married name? if so, do you know her maiden name? > > Nancy > > David Munger wrote: >> My great aunt Jane (also known as Addie) Munger was born in New York in >> 1846. Hi Linda, Believe Jeremiah Chapman (1745-1831), 12 children, had a son Jeremiah, Jr. (1775-1855) who had a son Elmer (1807-1882). Elmer married Lydia Jane (June) Smith daughter of Lemuel and Charity (Kirkum) Smith my paternal great x 3 grandparents. Lemuel's line goes back directly to Henry Smith (c1619-1687) of Stamford, CT. Jeremiah had another son Silas (1781-1859) who married Hannah Smith daughter of Philemon and Hannah (Reynolds) Smith. Philemon and Lemuel Smith were brothers. If the above is of interest please let me know as I have additional information on these families. I have never been able to find out where Lemuel and Charity Smith are buried - any ideas? Best wishes, Earle K. Smith, Jr. <eks@barrow9.fsnet.co.uk>

Her Father was Benjamin, and Mother was Anne (Sarah Ann), She had a brother Benjamin jr also born in New York. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1850. I would hope that someone could find some record of their existence in Putnam County. Thanks David Munger

Pelletreau, History of Putnam County, New York, With Bibliographical Sketches Of Its Prominent Men (Philadephia: W.W. She was a white woman … She requested to be buried in that place because, as she said, "my ancestors lie there." It is probable that she was the daughter of Timothy Shaw and that a family burying place was there in early times. " The History Of Putnam County, William J. Blake, Pub. by Baker & Scribner (146 Nassau Street, New York, N.Y.), 1849. 06) I strongly disagree with Kenneth Linwood Shaw's assertion that Timothy Shaw (1715-1779) was a son of, even though he quotes me as a source for the Shaw Family information that I have sent him. There is no proof as to his assertions of Timothy Shaw's parentage. His allegations are as follows: Father: Israel Shaw b: 29 JAN 1659/60 in Page 20, Little Compton Town Records, Newport County, Rhode Island, New England; Mother: Mercy Tallman b: 1674 in of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany. This is where I find his research: "John Shaw of Plymouth Plantation in Progress" to be flawed. Check: Muster Rolls of New York Provincial Troops, 1755-1764. Children of TIMOTHY SHAW are: 1) DEBORAH?2 SHAW, b. 1740; d. 05 May 1824, Carmel, Putnam Co. (old Dutchess Co.), N.Y.. Notes for DEBORAH?
