I find in 1927 they are mentioned in the death notice of their son Coleman. But in searching Old Fulton newspapers and Mahopoc Public Library websites there is no mention of either deaths. Hoping someone is doing research on Eastwoods in Brewster or Patterson or Southeast that would be able to give me the death dates of these people. In case of probate records you will need the index to help you locate any records. Records for probate can be obtained from Court House but it will cost you about $90 per record unless you can find someone to do the research and copies for you. I have use the public library website for Mahopac Public Library and have found a lot of information on my family. They have old newspapers that contain information on families in the area. Also Fulton Newspapers website has a lot of putnam county information on old newspapers. Also try the Historical Society of Putnam County they may be of some help to you. These are the sources I have tried and have found tons of information on my family. I have had a difficult time in the pass but since these newspapers have gone online it has saved me a lot of money and found tons of information. Author: wtcole67 Surnames: Cole Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.putnam/2363/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Matching yDNA results have indicated that the two early Cole families (Elisha Cole from Eastham, MA (Cape Cod) and Timothy Cole from Wilton, CT) are distantly related. The Timothy Cole family is mentioned in the book "The Descendants of Elisha Cole: who came from Cape Cod to what is now Putnam County, New York about 1745" by Joseph O. Curtis. Curtis notes the "other" (Timothy) Cole family in his book and says that they are not related. Wrong...they are related based on living Cole men who have recently taken the DNA tests and can trace their heritage. But that's okay, there is no way Curtis could have known this back 100 years ago. Another surprise based on DNA results... The Plymouth, MA Cole family (James Cole, Taverner) is not related to either the Eastham, MA Cole or Wilton, CT Cole families. The Plymouth Cole family has totally different DNA markers (based on tests from living Cole descendants) than the matching markers of the Eastham and Wilton Coles. Summary: Eastham, Hartford, Wilton Coles are related. Plymouth Coles are unrelated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
