The technology moves on, but the internet is forever...just this week I received an email that was the result of a hit on a google search for something I posted on this list years ago. We have had many emails back and forth since then, and it is leading...who knows where? We made a family connection in Cooperstown. I am very grateful for the sharing that goes on in this list and the tips I have received. I do a lot of connecting on Facebook these days and there is a wonderful genealogy community there. I blog about my family, and have expanded about some of the information I posted to the NYGenweb page. Otsego Co has one of the good ones! When I teach genealogy, I always recommend the newbys join a mailing list. It is all about the random connections that can bring down a brick wall. NY is tough - we all need help.
