He was the son of Joseph and Martha Cummings. Joseph was the son of Abraham and Mary Richardson Cummings, Jr.; Abraham Jr. was the son of Abraham and Sarah Wright Cummings, Sr.; Abraham Sr. was the son of John and Sarah Howlett Cummings; John was the son of immigrant Isaac and Anne Cummings. Isaac was b. abt 5 ap 1601 in Easthorpe, Essex Co., England and died abt 22 May 1677 in Topsfield, Essex Co., Massachusetts. Caleb married Hannah Chilson on 13 May 1775 possibly Vermont, Renssellare or Otsego Co., NY. Along with the above children I also have a LUCY CUMMINGS b. 6 Nov 1777.
