Hello: My gg grandfather, Moses Bennet/Bennett was born in 1826. Most of the records I have obtained have conflicting data re: birthplace. Some say NY, others Canada. I found the above Moses on the 1820 Census for Maryland, Otsego County (which borders Canada), NY. This is a long shot, but I only found two Moses Bennet's living in the border counties in 1820. Is anyone researching the surname Bennet/Bennett. Any information, direction would be greatly appreciated.
