My ancestor, Hugh Argyl Campbell, was listed in the 1790 census for Cherry Valley. Since the heads of household are not in alphabetical order I assume that the census take listed the names in the order in which he went from house to house. Since the name immediately preceeding Hugh Campbell was John Campbell they may very well have been living together or were neighbors. Consequently, they may have been related. I have been searching for a John Campbell who was the brother of my Hugh Campbell. Does anyone on this list know anything about this John Campbell? If he is the brother of Hugh, then he would have been born in Londonderry, NH, before 1744 and his parents would have been Thomas and Jane Campbell. George Campbell
