Tracy, I checked the obituaries in the two local Cooperstown newspapers -- The Freeman's Journal and the Otsego Farmer. No new real information, I'm afraid. They were, as I expected, identical and read as follows: The Freeman's Journal, August 16, 1933: -------------- Mrs. Malcolm Robinson The death of Mrs. Malcolm Robinson occurred at her home on the Leatherstocking farm near Cooperstown at 10 o'clock Sunday morning, following an illness of a complication of diseases which extended over a period of six weeks. Mrs. Robinson was Miss Emma Bice, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Ballard) Bice and she was born February 13, 1903, in the town of Otsego. May 4, 1924, she was united in marriage with Mr. Robinson, son of Bruce Robinson of Mount Vision, and they had been residents as the Leatherstocking farm for the past seven years. Surviving is the husband; three children, Ruth, Evelyn and Charles; her father, Charles Bice of this town, and a grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jackson of Mount Vision, all of whom will have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church of this village and of the Fly Creek Valley Grange, and a wide circle of friends will mourn her loss. The funeral will be held from the home of her father, near her late home, Wednesday afternoon ag 2 o'clock, the Rev. Herbert M. Pease, pastor of the Cooperstown Baptist church officiating, and burial will be made in the Fly Creek cemetery. ---------------------- The Otsego Farmer of August 18, 1933, had an identical item, except that the details of the funeral were in the past tense. This was ususal for the two papers on information of this sort.. I checked with the current Pastor of the Cooperstown Baptist Church and the Church does not have any records from Rev. Pease that could be of significance. Have you checked for relatives in the Cooperstown area who might have memories or information? There are still a number of Robinsons here. Although the obituaries do not suggest it, it is possible that she was treated at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital here, which was and is the principal local health provider. I'll be glad to mail you copies of the obituaries if you would like them. I trust you have heard from the Village regarding the death certificate -- if there are any problems let me know.
