The only John Harris on the 1855 Oneonta Census was Name age born resided Oneonta #408 (439) John Harris 30 Ots 30 Angelia Harris, wife 25 Ots 3 James Harris, child 8/12 Ots 8/12 This would not be yours as he was born 1820 and born in Otsego Co. I didn't find any Harris on 1865 and no John or Caroline (Carrie) Harris on 1875. Sorry.
