My great-great-grandmother, Penelope Westcott Chapman (widow of Zenas) died in 1862 in Cooperstown. I'm pretty sure they were Universalists (they were m by the Universalist minister) and according to Christ (Episcopal) Church Records: "6/14/1863 Mrs. Chapman buried on Universalist Grounds." But Penelope died 1862, according to a 1973 letter (to someone else) from Juno Purvis, County Clerk. I also checked, and found the Universalist Burying Grounds were moved (as I remember, when Mary Bridge Hospital was built) but I couldn't find when or to what place. Please keep me in mind when and if you find any early burial records!
