    3. Hi Leigh, What I'd like to do is to have Kathy of what used to be the Lewis-Hurley funeral home share the information she has on all the oldest burials with me. I tried to get them to let me compile their records on computer just befoer Jim Hurley sold her the funeral home but she saidi they were going to have an "intern" do it but that she would share the info with me when it was done. I haven't gotten around to contacting her again. The intern had some other things to do first....like making the home handicapped accessible so I don't know if they got the records done or not. I want to contact her but guess I'm afraid that either it hasn't been done or that she will not share the info with me. I found a notice in an old newspaper that McCrum had over 4000 (I think) burial records or at least the largest in the area and McCrums & Lewises were related so his records ended up at Lewis'. It's possible that they have records of deaths that can't be found anywhere else as the Oneonta paper didn't start until 1853. I must take my courage in hand and go down and see her personally and beg on bended knee for access to those old burial records. At the time I talked to them, Jim said anything less than 50 years old, was accessible which was fine with me. I'm hoping to access the old records and not only find deaths but burial places and maaybe even more wonderful, parents listed. I know that Bookhout has parents listed in their records but then they only started in 1929 when McCrum was around long before that. Hope you have a wonderful year, too.
