I am searching for information on Peter Lansing, born 1812 (?) in New York; died 1894 in Richmondville. His wife was Harriet, born 1834 in Ohio, died 1898 in Richmondville. We know that Peter was in Cherry Valley, Otsego County in the 1850 census with wife Harriet and sons (?) James and Edgar. By the 1860 census the family was in Walworth County, Wisconsin, where our ancestor Jennie (Jeanette ?) was born 16 September 1862. Perhaps Harriet was Peter's second wife, because she was so much younger than he, and her age does not match with the birth of James (about 1836) and Edgar (about 1841). Peter also was the father of Elbert (born about 1851 in New York) and Louisa (born 1854 in Illinois). We know that Jennie was the daughter of Peter and Harriet but are not sure of the mother of the other siblings. Jennie Lansing was baptized at the Episcopal Church of Richmondville 6 April 1879. She married Charles Hallenbeck of Cobleskill. Charles and Jennie Hallenbeck relocated at some point to Oneonta where Jennie died 14 July 1929. Charles Hallenbeck died there 4 June 1956. Charles and Jennie had three sons: Fred, born 1893; Harold born 1895; and Karl born 1898. Obviously the Lansing family had an unusual migration.
