LeRow born 1837, and Caroline born 1829 in Otsego. It's possible that Mercy was Alexander's second wife, and I've been unable to find a record of their marriage. She also may have died in childbirth, as there is a record a of a Juliette LeRow who died in 1848 at the age of 3, in Fly Creek - just a guess on my part. Caroline married Thomas T. Davidson in 1850, and Mary married Samuel Stebbins in 1855 (my line). I'm wondering if Mercy is any connection to your family? I notice you've not posted in quite awhile, so I hope you do get this! My grandfather Ross W Stockwell told me in the 1960s that Malynintha Clark and her brother Titus came to NY from Vermont on horseback. His family used to have her saddle but loaned it out and never got it back. Research confirms that they were born in Pawlett Rutland Co. Vt. He is buried in Prentiss Burial ground on the outskirts of Gilbertsville. I visited it in April 2011 and found it to very peaceful with the old gravestones nestled beneath very old hemlocks. Hi Jerry I still check the GenWeb sites and you are correct, less activity there. I have queries on Delaware, Otsego, Oswego and now I need to add a query on Chenango's board. That is the trouble with having all your lines in one state. I thank you for all the wonderful things you did with the site when you had it. Hi folks. I am still looking for all descendents of Willem Gerritsen and Mary/Maria ?. Willem and Mary immigrated from Bermuda to New Netherlands in 1659. The below information was taken from a bible kept by Samuel Gerritsen and published in the NYG&B Society.in the RECORD. Their children were given the surname Willemsen/Williamson according to Dutch Patronymics. Their grand children had the surname Williamson. Know children of Willem & Mary/Marie ? Hmmm... I am still on several lists that are still active and none have advertising banners. I think you may have heard a rumor! I like these lists when people post to the list so you can respond. I'm not so keen on the posts that come from Rootsweb and require me to sign on to reply. Frankly, I don't usually bother. Sue Sue Roe Seal Beach, CA [email protected] A friend is one who comes in when the whole world has gone out. Walter Winchell In a message dated 5/8/2012 8:08:16 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: Hi Jerry, Seems as though the GenWeb organization is pretty much a thing of the past, certainly not anything like it was back in the day you cared for many of the county pages. Most of the county pages are still "up", but no longer active. Some of the materials were moved to local genealogy society sites. The old Rootsweb mail lists are used very little. A shame that such a wonderful resource has gone by the way. I've heard from some of the "ex-county coordinators" that Ancestry.com had pilfered some of the data, and other coordinators say that the advertising banners required by Ancestry.com, on the pages were too intrusive. Whatever the reasons, a wonderful resource is mostly a thing of the past. I thank you for your many contributions and efforts over the past years. Yes, the Rootsweb lists have been very inactive, but they're not dead, and they're still a potentially great source. A lot of the activity in the past was in response to queries, so to get things moving again I posted a help call on nyotsego and gen-nys, and hope someone can help me find several burial places that are not on findagrave.com (yet).
