    1. Ellis surname
    2. Marilyn & Richard
    3. Hi Listers, I am looking for a Samuel Ellis that lived in Otsego in 1815 and before I believe. His son Stephen R. H. Ellis was reportedly born in Otsego County New York in 1815 according to Bible records I obtained while in New York state in 2003. I have pictures of other Ellis' gravestone I took while in New York state this year and I am trying to tie those folks to my Ellis'. Any help would be very helpful. Thank You very much. 3. Hi List, While poking around on eBay I noticed that there are 4 nice old Walrath photos from the Oneonta/Cherry Valley area. I think somebody on the list was researching that surname a while ago. I have NO connection to whomever is selling them. ( I continue to hope I will find photos of my ancestors) Dreaming on..... 1. Van Voorhis- Magee in Decatur
    2. My g-g-g-grandfather, James Van Voorhis, married Jane Magee in 1826 and they lived, died and were buried in Decatur, NY. I believe that Jane Magee is the daughter of John Magee and Rachel Walker. Her age and sex fits into the John Magee family of the1810 and 1820 Decatur censuses. Jane was born in 1806 and died 01 Dec 1890. I am trying to prove her relationship to John and Rachel. Is there a local paper that might have carried an obituary? Is there some place that has local death records without having to send to the state? Are there any county histories that might have mentioned them? I'd appreciate any suggestions that you might have. Thanks. Rita
