Hi Hugh, What little i found out abt the Jennings that they also lived in Montgomery Co,also other counties.They owned a mill i think it was Herkimer Co.Anthony i have down as being born 1824 in St Johnsville,NY; Paul i think was born in Maryland,NY,They also lived in Oppenheim,,NY i'm not sure what county that is.I would like to find out what town they had a mill.Peter Jennings and Barabra Reice/Rice was Anthony's Father/Mother.i don't have a clue where they are from or born. Joannah JENNINGS born 30 Dec 1792 probably in New York State; died 30 May 1872 town of New Hudson, Allegany Co., NY. She married 5 Oct 1815 to Benjamin Kingsbury in Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY. Her mother's name may have been Hannah and she definitely had a sister Hannah Jennings who attested to the marriage of Joannah to Benjamin Kingsbury when Joannah made application for widow's pension because Benjamin had served in War of 1812. Joannah died at home of her son, Daniel, but she lived her adult life in town of Rushford, Allegany Co., NY where she and husband migrated. She is buried Hardy Corner's cemetery at Rushford. Hi Theresa, According to a "listing" I obtained on Evergreen Cemetery in Otego, the following Jennings burials were listed: The listing said "also included the old Baptist Cem, located behind the Baptist Church, now incorporated in the larger cemetery; and the old Hyatt farm Cemetery, which was moved there when I-88 was built." I too thought there was no "link below" until I pulled the screen up. The link was way down, off my screen at first. Others have reported excessive delay. That might be overload on the NEHGS system because so many non-members are using it at one time. Be patient. I had to wait once, but usually it came back with the results of a search within a reasonable period of time. I used it a few minutes ago; got in quickly and got search results quickly, using Windows 98 and Netscape 7.01. It may not work for all browsers and all versions of Windows. Good luck with it. THE HISTORY OF SAUK COUNTY WISCONSIN published: Chicago: Western Historical Society 1880 VILLAGE AND TOWN OF REEDSBURG - Page 729 W.H. YOUNG, farmer, Sec. 5; P.O. Reedsburg; is a son of John C. and Hannah Dingman Young; was born in Montgomery Co., N.Y., May 10, 1824; resided in his native county till about 10 years of age; then went to Otsego Co., N.Y., and lived there till about 1847. He was married in Otsego Co., March 3, 1844 to Peggy A. House, daughter of Conrad and Margaret House; she was born in Otsego Co.; a separation and divorce occurred in 1846, and the next year Mr. Young moved to Jefferson Co., N.Y., and remained there till 1854, and then came to Wisconsin; settled in Reedsburg. He was married at Baraboo, January, 1856, to Adeline Crawford, daughter of James Crawford; she was born in Ohio; there were two children by this marriage, Clarence, and Howard, deceased. Mr. Young came to his present farm in July, 1856; Mrs. Young died July 10, 1861. Mr. Young has been Chairman of Reedsburg one year, Supervisor four years, and District Clerk sixteen years. He was married Dec. 17, 1863, to Lydia Dewey, daughter of Henry and Mary A. Dewey; they have had three children - George, Charles (deceased), and Winnie F. Mr. Young has 200 acres of land.
