    3. Dear Mr. Sage, Another resource you might wish to examine is the Chenango County rootsweb site. In particular, try the St. Andrew's Cemetery listing in the Town and Village of New Berlin, NY.........although in Chenango County, the Sage family were the owners of several cheese factories along the Unadilla River..........a few miles south of New Berlin, a railroad crossing is still referred to as "Sage's Crossing," in light of a once existent milk processing plant. The Sages were also major contributors to St. Andrew's Church in New Berlin............ 1. Your 1600s American Ancestors Update
    2. First Families
    3. Hello Everyone: Those of you who are working on your lines back to your 1600s American Ancestors will find the 1600s Ancestors Data Base to be of great help. I have recently posted several hundred new Ancestors to the Data Base bringing the total to over 29,000 entries both men and women. Also listed are several National Societies who have proven many of the Ancestors you will find here. There are also a few new Reference Works that contain many more lines. The entries are coded to indicate to which Society or Reference Work has at least one of their proven lines. Several of the National Societies have over 20 different lines from a single Ancestor. WHEN YOU ENTER THE 1600s ANCESTORS DATA BASE be sure to look at the top of each data page for the link that takes you to the "Data Base Information Page". There you will find the list of codes and how to use them. This is MUST reading if you are to understand the Data Base and how to use it. We are constantly updating the Data Base with Additional Ancestors and references as time permits. More work has been devoted to updating listings of the female Ancestors by going back and including marriage dates. This takes much time and we still have a lot of work to do there. You will find the 1600s Ancestor Data Base at; http://www.firstfamilies.org/db/ For those of you who are AOL members you may have trouble connecting to many pages that may come up with a message such as "Page Does Not Exist" and you should cure that by using your browser feature of Copy and Paste the URL to your browser and pressing your enter key. Everyone has free access to the Data Base and to all our posted pages. Enjoy and Happy Hunting Ryan Jackson Data Base Manager America's First Families

    1. Re: [NYOTSEGO] Emma Bice Robinson Obit
    2. Cooperstown Village Historian
    3. Tracy, I checked the obituaries in the two local Cooperstown newspapers -- The Freeman's Journal and the Otsego Farmer. No new real information, I'm afraid. They were, as I expected, identical and read as follows: The Freeman's Journal, August 16, 1933: -------------- Mrs. Malcolm Robinson The death of Mrs. Malcolm Robinson occurred at her home on the Leatherstocking farm near Cooperstown at 10 o'clock Sunday morning, following an illness of a complication of diseases which extended over a period of six weeks. Mrs. Robinson was Miss Emma Bice, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Ballard) Bice and she was born February 13, 1903, in the town of Otsego. May 4, 1924, she was united in marriage with Mr. Robinson, son of Bruce Robinson of Mount Vision, and they had been residents as the Leatherstocking farm for the past seven years. Surviving is the husband; three children, Ruth, Evelyn and Charles; her father, Charles Bice of this town, and a grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jackson of Mount Vision, all of whom will have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church of this village and of the Fly Creek Valley Grange, and a wide circle of friends will mourn her loss. The funeral will be held from the home of her father, near her late home, Wednesday afternoon ag 2 o'clock, the Rev. Herbert M. Pease, pastor of the Cooperstown Baptist church officiating, and burial will be made in the Fly Creek cemetery. ---------------------- The Otsego Farmer of August 18, 1933, had an identical item, except that the details of the funeral were in the past tense. This was ususal for the two papers on information of this sort.. I checked with the current Pastor of the Cooperstown Baptist Church and the Church does not have any records from Rev. Pease that could be of significance. Have you checked for relatives in the Cooperstown area who might have memories or information? There are still a number of Robinsons here. Although the obituaries do not suggest it, it is possible that she was treated at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital here, which was and is the principal local health provider. I'll be glad to mail you copies of the obituaries if you would like them. I trust you have heard from the Village regarding the death certificate -- if there are any problems let me know. 3. Dould you be a bit more specific about what information you are seeking. Several of the Beadles (of Dime Novel fame) did live in Cooperstown. 3. According to the 1930 US Census Emma Robinson (wife of Malcolm Robinson, farm laborer) lived on Pierstown Road in the Town of Otsego, but not in the Village of Cooperstown. The family is not listed in Village directories of the period. The Town Clerk of the Town of Otsego is Pam Deane, postal address PO Box 183, Fly Creek, NY 13337-0183. Telephone: (607) 547-5631 I have a phone call in to her to see what information she might be able to provide, and will relay anything I learn. 2. Gilbertsville Free Library
    3. Dear Mr. VerStreate - We are very sorry to have to tell you that we have no Beadle family information in our files. It seems that few, if any, Beadles spent any time here in Butter- nuts, at least not enough time to show up in any church, school or family file. Your best bet is to continue to request information from the Otsego County rootsweb site as you are doing. Wishing you success with your project. Leigh Leigh C.
