REMINDER: Not all of the cemeteries in Otsego County appear on the valuable "Cemeteries of Otsego County" map unless a revised edition of the map has been published. For example, the cemetery on Route 80 in the center of the most important village in the Town of Burlington, Burlington Green, does not appear on the map. I have a list of the burials in that cemetery and I repeat my offer to do look-ups on that list. Carma (Bull) Stone
Hi Christine I have Cornwell St John and other information. Could you be looking for additional family members? If so, I have the information you might need. Regards Pat Reagan
Christine - Leonardsville is separated from the Town of Plainfield by the Unadilla River and many families' span the river. Try contacting the Historian for the Town of Plainfield, she may be able to help you Melinda Wadsworth 6867 County Hwy #18 West Winfield, NY 13491 If Mindy can not help you, try contacting Bob Nonemacher, Historian for the Town of Edmeston which border the Town of Plainfield and the Una- dilla River. Christine Emond, Leonardsville, as I expect you know, is in Madison County, not Otsego County. The Otsego County Planning Department (197 Main Street, Cooperstown, NY 13326) recently published a "Cemeteries of Otsego County" == a large scale map identifying and showing the locations of all cemeteries in Otsego County. What cemetery records have been placed on line from Otsego County (including some St. John names) can be found at the Otsego County genweb site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyotsego/ Without more specific information, that is about the best I can do. This is not quite what Congress has done. The Senate has voted to eliminate funding for the Electronic Records Archive, and cut some other NARA funding as well. This came after arcane reorganization in recent years of Senate committees, and as a result of trying to find funding to reallocate to Amtrak. It's been over a year since I last posted so I'll just throw this out. I am related to all the Fisks of Unadilla through our common ancestors John Fisk and Mary Stilwell. I also come from John Wilson and Phebe Sherwood of Gilbertsville/Butternuts. Since the Fisks and DeForests intermarried quite a bit, I also have them in my lines. I have found several cousins on this list and I'm always looking for more, so if any of these names coincide with yours, please contact me. Karen Flanders Eddy of CT
Hi all, Please take a moment of your time to sign the petition to save the National Archives and Records. http://www.savearchives.org/ I went to the site found good information and signed. I NEED access to NARA and am against anything that will endanger our ability to access its files!
