    3. Hi Cliff, Why don't you take a photograph of the memorial and then list all the names off the memorial and send it to the Otsego Co. web site coordinator. It's Jan Cortez at the present although I know that she's putting the site up for adoption. But that way the picture would be there and all the information. You can send the names, etc in just an email. Jan's email is janacortez@charter.net Your idea is good and we should do the same for the memorials in Neahwa Park in Oneonta. I've never thought of doing it before. It's easy to do as I've submitting lots of info that she has posted on the web page. 3. Sandy, I thought I was getting a good photo when I was up there. It just did not happen . I would love to take that photo but I am in south Texas and it is a long jaunt for someone old enough to have his name on the memorial. I was hoping some good samaritan up there would take the burden and do it. I am contemplating doing it for a memorial in Houston at 11th street and Heights bouvelard and giving it to the Harris County society (if someone has not done it already). Many have died since then and the rest of us will likely be gone in another ten or twenty years. For genealogical purposes it would be well to consider photographing such items and posting on the County websites. I have tried to photograph it with all the names and have been unable to do so. 3. Afraid I don't find much. There is no will probated in Otsego County for any Judson before 1844. That one, in Town of Otsego, interestingly has wife Rhoda, brothers Lewis and Anson, and sister Anne. None of cemetery listings at my disposal list any Judson -- but not all Otsego County cemeteries have been transcribed by any means. 3. I am looking for where Lewis JUDSON (b.22.Jan.1780, d.17.Feb.1829 in Otsego County NY) maybe buried and looking for his probate records. He reportedly lived in the Madison, Otsego, and Delaware County area circa 1824-1829. Lewis Judson was the son of Nathaniel Judson & Rhoda HALL, both of Newtown CT. Lewis was the father of Lewis Hubbell JUDSON (b.6.Aug.1809). Lewis Judson m. Sally HUBBELL in 1804. I would appreciate any information that would point me in the right direction for my next field trip to the east coast. Thank You. 1. Re: [NYOTSEGO] To Gloria Sutherland "who was your John Sutherland?"
    2. Jane Wood
    3. Hello, I have been searching for this Sutherland family. John born abt 1726, d. aft 1810 in Westford, Otsego co., NY. I don't know what his wife's name is for sure. His children are Smith and Lovinia(Wright), twins b. 1766, Amos b. 1761, Pamelia b. 1765(Van Valkenburgh), Elizabeth b. 1754(Lay), and I believe there was a son John b. abt 1755. He is not listed on Merritt's book but I find him next to Smith with a elder with him in 1810 Westford. John was in Caanan, Columbia Co in the 1790 census, name spelled Sutherlin, in 1801, beat 11 along with Smith and Amos from the Early History of New Concord, He bought property in the Chatham Center area in 1802, and I have other info from the historian showing their presence in the Town of Chatham, NY in the late 1700's and early 1800's. There may have been a brother of John's, per the historian, named William. I have not found John's grave site or Amos's site, but Smith is buried in Westford. The family is listed in Merritt's book but not connected to the other branches of Sutherland's. One point of interest is that they lived close to the William Sutherland of Chatham Branch of the family. 2. Winnie Grainer
    3. Gloria, In an earlier posting of yours Nov 16 you state you are interested in Smith, Amos and John Sutherland of Otsego County. What John Sutherland are you referring to and what are his dates, birth and death? My Sutherlands are using over and over William and John so maybe there is a connection. Have you looked at the Coxsackie, Albany County 1790 census? There are on the same page William, Joel and Smith Sutherland. ( There was also a Reuben and Daniel Sutherland in this 1790 census). I believe there may be a connection of these people and have some information, iffy as it may be, that my William came from the Albany area perhaps arriving there from England or Scotland and that is where he met wife Nancy Ann Yarnes. Any clues or more bricks?? Winnie

    3. I can go back only to William S Sutherland & Nancy Ann Yarnes his wife I start with them as follows: William S Sutherland born about 1773 died October 9, 1812, buried Taylor Town Cemetery, Town of Otsego, Otsego Co. NY Wife Nancy Ann Yarnes born about 1779 died Sept 20, 1859, buried Taylor Town Cemetery, Town of Otsego, Otsego Co. NY I have been to this cemetery and seen the grave stones.
