Thanks for the input everyone we plan to go and photograph the cemetery on rt 4 this weekend. I contacted the rental agent for the housing complex and permission to check it out. Will check with Justin too and see if there is a list of those buried someplace. Marilyn has any one inventoried the cemetery on 104 east? His name is Justin. There is a cemetery that was uncovered the sight where the original first log cabin (that is the foundation) was built here in Oswego plus artifacts. Along with this was a cemetery. They are trying to figure out what to do with it. A developer wants it to build on for the progress in our city. Same old story, progress may out weigh the past. It is off 104 east. Lets hope peoples greed doesn't overcome history. Also anyone who is interested, the History Center in Sandy Creek is open Wednesday and Friday 10-4 at the Sandy Creek County Fair Grounds. Yesterday we gave Barb Dix a wonderful send off party. She will be there till Monday then Justin takes over so send queries to him about records there. We will sure miss her help there. I will forward her address to you when she gets started in her own genealogy research business if that's alright with all.
