I'm sure we've discussed this before, but I'm going to ask again. I'm at the point in one branch of my family research where I would like to find my ancestors Naturalization Records--especially the Application for Naturalization. They settled in Oswego Co in 1856 as best I can tell, so my understanding is that they had to wait 5 years to apply--that would put them at 1861. Would I check county records or state records? Is any of this online? Thanks for any guidance anyone can give. Marjorie Kaine Lampley
Hi Margie: Which ancestors are you referring to ... from where? Ancestry has naturalization records and I just happen to have a subscription to the U.S. portion.
