    3. Dear List, We are presently looking for information as to the parents of Amasa Daniel White, or additional information on him. We found that an Amasa White, served in the Vermont militia and was 200 miles from home when he was discharged. Unfortunately, we don't know the location where he was discharged, or for certain this was our Amasa Daniel White. According to a journal which was kept by my grandfather, George Leon DeBourney White, Sr., his grandfather, Amasa Daniel White, was born in Salem, Essex County , Massachusetts, in December, 1787, however the information on the headstone of Amasa White, Sr. indicates that he was born in 1785. Amasa White has a monument in Woodlawn Cemetery at Sandy Creek, Oswego County, New York. Amasa Daniel White, married Martha (Polly) Tyler, who was born ca. 1803, in Massachusetts, the daughter of John Tyler and -?-. We are totally unsure of the age of Polly Tyler. We are looking for a will or deed or some other record to establish some basis for our information. After Amasa Daniel White, died in 1838, his widow, Martha “Polly” Tyler White, married (2) James B. Briggs ca. 1841, and had one boy, Orson M. Briggs, born ca. 1843. James B. Briggs was born ca. 1785, in Vermont. The Sandy Creek News for February 6, 1930, says that James B. Briggs was the grandfather of John Tuttle. If you know anything of this family, I would like to correspond with you. John@Sissom.org John D. Sissom johnsissom@sbcglobal.net sola fida
