Good luck - Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland Hi Roesmary, I have a Civil War question. Our relations the Horatio Stanley family, had 3 boys Ebenezer E. (Everett we think) Horatio (Horatus) W. Jr, and Charles H. in the CW. They lived in Amboy on Panther Lk. I've traced Charles record but can't find Eben and Horatio Jr."s. The 2 boys are listed in Oswego county history as enlisting in 2nd Lt. Artl. Eban and Charles survived the war but nothing on Horation Jr. after 1860. Do you know where I can go to find records? I can't afford to go to Govt. records. Also can't find parents death aft 1880 or anything on them before 1850. They were Horatio W. Stanley and Elisibeth H. Warner (I think) b. 1815 and 1824. If you can help I'ed be thankful. I do live here in Oswego, NY. Getting off the subject, if there is anyone interested history and the Civil War or French and Indian War, there is a re-inactment in Ontario at Heritage Square this weekend July 8&9. They are also dedicating an old train station they just moved there to go along with the rest of the many buildings from the 1800's. Very informative weekend. I'll be there if anyone has any questions on there CW ancestry. Then in August, Ft. Ontario will have a BIG re-inactment of the French and Indian War Aug 11- the 13th with around 6 or 700 re-inactors and 60 Indians.. They say it's going to be the biggest in the North East. I'll be there too. Look for the shortest one there dressed in 1700's New France attire other than a 9 year old.
