In the search box, try 'Jennie w/5 Patterson' (without the quotes) *and* make the search type boolean (select boolean from the drop down list). This tells the search engine to return instances of the word Jennie that occur within 3 words of the word Patterson. The key is to make the search type Boolean. I would give this a try except I'm at work and they blocked that site. I tried Russ's search criterion and it didn't find any articles. I tried as many others as I could think of without luck. Did she go by any other name? Was Jenny short for Jane or anything else? What was her maiden name? Do you know what town she lived in? That might help narrow down the numerous Jennys and Pattersons that come up.
