I take exception to your remarks about county workers, perhaps you have problems in your area, however it is not fair to make such comments. I work for a county secondary road crew in Iowa, and especially during the winters, they work 12 hour days (all the longer allowed) 7 days a week sometimes for weeks on end. That also includes holidays etc. so when you make your comments, make them to the supervisors in charge of the workers that YOU SAW standing around watching, perhaps there was a reason, perhaps not. I agree, losing Barbara was terrible, but don't put the blame on something you perhaps know nothing about. As far as 'Fat Cats" on the road crew, I don't know of any that we have here in our county, pay is usually lower than most factory jobs. So please don't make generalizations, the leaning on a shovel story has been around enough times, it doesn't need to be on here.
