Considering the number of other cuts, a letter-writing campaign looks pretty hopeless, but I've sent mine in too. This is really a drastic reduction in force. Keeping the 'mere' county historian when you're reducing a criminal investigator to road officer status is not going to sit well with anyone who doesn't care about family history. I wasn't crazy about the suggestion to charge for lookups and assistance but that idea is looking better and better, as the only alternative that's likely to sit well with the residents of Oswego County.
