I personally emailed Barb Dix yesterday to confirm this issue and heard back from her earlier today. I am the rootsweb coordinator for the mail list for neighboring St. Lawrence county and posted a note there about this issue. Also a note to the St. Lawrence County Historical Assn. Its director is the county historian for that county so I suspect he will take an interest. Thanks for the newspaper link! I have Sprague ancestry from Sandy Creek and Barb helped me with directions to a cemetery and a record of burials that helped me locate a ggg grandfather's grave.
