To All Fellow Subscribers We should all look at this as an indication of what will probably affect many other County Historians in New York State and other States throughout the USA in the near future. If one looks at the how the Administration of the NY State Historian Office is set up it shows us that this is not a priority with our current government. In general throughout the USA we have seen drastic changes in how and what will be kept as County and State Records and also many changes in the availability of records to the public. Our history and heritage is slowly being swept away from us. Writing and supporting the Oswego County Historian is something that we should all do (I support this), but we should be doing this across the Country before it is too late to change. Our Genealogy Societies, Historical Societies and Lineage Organizations should all be fighting to avoid this. Regards Pat R
