I grew up in the area. All the kids used to go there to look for 4 leaf clovers in the massive grass areas (probably the old parade grounds). It was a wonderful place to play in - high walls overlooking Lake Ontario. It's shaped in a 5 point star - massive abutments, canon cuts in the thick walls. In the summer it was so cool inside those walls.
