    1. Oswego Co. Historian... pointers

    3. Russ, Thank you for those pointers and getting the other necessary email addresses! (listed below) There was concern that perhaps people are writing their letters to the mailing list and not the email address listed below for Mr. Lyman. If this was the case, would those persons, copy and paste their email to the list and send a separate email to Mr. Lyman and the other addresses that Russ was kind enough to gather. Thanks everyone for being supportive for a very good purpose. Dianne I do think it is important that everyone write a letter to Mr. Stephen Lyman, Oswego County Administrator, 46 East Bridge Street, Oswego, NY 13126 or at his E-mail address which is [email protected] You should also forward copies of this letter to Oswego County Legislators. I found the following E-mail addresses on the Oswego County web site: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], It would be nice to let Barbara Dix and her boss, Mr. Williams also know of what we are doing by copying them at: [email protected], [email protected]

    3. I was talking to Paul Lear Historic Site Manager for Fort Ontario and he said that Mr. Lyman is the best to contact about Barbara Dix. He just shook his head in disbelief. Some people think genealogy and history are unimportant and take the who cares attitude. They better wake up! It is a valued tool to plan the future. Although I don't have to convince you of this. The Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War tent 56 out of Ontario, NY are having a special memorial (with the Mayor and all) service August 9th at noon in the Washington Square ( for us older ones it is the East Park) by the Civil War Monument, they ask me to say a few words about the Monument I might have to add a little in there about this. Maybe see some of you there? I'll be the short one in Civil War dress. After all the Civil War Monument has been all but forgotten just because of the people that could care less about history and genealogy. I'm pushing to have something done about the upkeep of it. Rosemary Nesbitt and Fred Crisafulli are backing me fully. Fred Said that was the reason he had the Gold Star Mothers stone removed and placed in the Linear Park, just because of the lack of care. We must start caring for these things of the past too. Sorry I'm rambling on but Barb is a friend of mine and our advisor for the OCGS and this makes me saddened and upset.
