As a disabled person (from birth) I am really upset with this government - no one seems to care about the things 'the people' co-ersively and some freely give their money to support. I wish people would band together to let politicians know that we are fed up with their huge salaries (like why do ex presidents get such huge retirement plans? I doubt they 'need' it). The lack of regard they have for the 'typical' taxpayer is in humane and many countries are aware of this ... I personally think since 'we' and our ancestors gave 'this information' to the government so they can take out money, we should have free access to the information (for our families edification and or necessitate - medical issues are not things to take with a sniffle...). I only found out a couple of years ago by finding my biological father why I was born with a deformed and dislocated hip. So far, I have had seven hip operations. My spine is deteriorating - my right hip now needs surgery and I'd like to know why I came down with Multiple Sclerosis... what genetic issues come to play here? Genealogy might give me some answers and reduce my out of pocket medical expenses. I can't afford insurance so my medical care is inferior... knowledge of my families genealogy is not just a hobby to me. Will the county end up like the ones in Illinois where it is almost impossible to find any information on genealogy? If so, it is a sad time for Oswego County. A wonderful past Volney historian, Byran Rowlee, has helped me so much with great records of Mt. Peasant cemeteries, especially the Ives connections and his is simply a love of genealogy and helping people. When all the "knowledge" is gone, what do we do then?
