    3. The same way you just sent this question *but* change the subject line. The subject line should include the surname of who you are researching and, if you know them, the dates of birth and death. Example 'John Jones, 1879 - 1958'. Give as much information as you can in a query so that someone else might be able to pick up where you left off. In NY state, it's important to note the town someone lived in or at least the county. Relevant birth, death and marriage dates are also quite important.
