    3. Russ, I'm not as familiar with Boolean searches as I thought I was. What exactly are you asking for with a search string of 'roscoe w/10 cornell?' Specifically, what is the purpose of the 'w/10?' In the search box search 'roscoe w/10 cornell' (without the quotes). At the drop down box where the default is 'all the words', click 'boolean' then search. I just did that and got 28 hits. Another very similar site but with different newspapers is: http://news.nnyln.net/ You may want to try the same kind of search with the papers there. Note that the more generic you make your search the more hits you will get (ex. search just 'cornell' and you will get more hits but fewer of them will be relevant). 1. [NYOSWEGO] Boolean Search at Newspaper sites
    2. Russell Sprague
    3. I should have mentioned that. A search like that means you want the search to return any hits where the word roscoe is within 10 words of cornell. I think that helps with the newspaper searches because the long narrow columns sometimes break up names. Also this might find something along the lines of Mr. and Mrs. (something) Cornell and thier children Sarah, Roscoe and .....'
