Note that the more generic you make your search the more hits you will get (ex. search just 'cornell' and you will get more hits but fewer of them will be relevant). I should have mentioned that. A search like that means you want the search to return any hits where the word roscoe is within 10 words of cornell. I think that helps with the newspaper searches because the long narrow columns sometimes break up names. Also this might find something along the lines of Mr. and Mrs. (something) Cornell and thier children Sarah, Roscoe and .....'
