    3. Thank you so very much, Joyce!! I found him by searching on the exact phrase "Roscoe Cornell". The articles confirm that this is my Roscoe -- and gave me a lot more info on his family to explore. A great way to start my day! I did not get any hits when I used his full name. New York took a census in 1915 and if they were married the year prior to the census it will be in the marriages listed at the end of each area. 1. [NYOSWEGO] Roscoe C Cornell from Oswego
    2. Russell Sprague
    3. One of the more useful ways to search the newspapers is the 'boolean' search. In the search box search 'roscoe w/10 cornell' (without the quotes). At the drop down box where the default is 'all the words', click 'boolean' then search. I just did that and got 28 hits. Another very similar site but with different newspapers is: http://news.nnyln.net/ You may want to try the same kind of search with the papers there. Note that the more generic you make your search the more hits you will get (ex. search just 'cornell' and you will get more hits but fewer of them will be relevant).
