    1. Oswego Poor House Records Book
    2. Hello One and All, I would like to thank each of you for responding to my email regarding where the Oswego Records Book should reside. It was a very difficult decision for my husband and I to make, but we have made one. My husband and I were married 33 years on the 4th of July and this is my anniversary present from him. When I saw the email regarding the book this is what I asked him for and he made sure that I got it!! Thank you Barry! My reason for donating the book to back to Oswego instead of keeping it is: My grandmother was from Oswego and my grandparents meet, fell in love and were married there. In fact I believe I still have family there. I have donated the book to the Oswego County Genealogy County Society, and requested that they find a place for the book to be located. As we do not live in or near Oswego, we were not certain where the majority of the genealogists would look for information, and all the locations mentioned were worthy places. The Richardson - Bates House Museum is a wonderful place, but appointments have to be made to do family research. My husband and I thought this might be a draw back to other people as I found it to be. (Often we just took off and did not know when we would be in Oswego.) The Library was another location that I thought of as place were it would help other Genealogists. Due to the fact that I was only at the library once, I could not remember what their local history section was like. Lastly, the records department was also on my list but the hours were limited to weekdays which I thought could be draw back. So, I decided to give it to the Genealogy Society and they could decide for me. Thank you one and all, Diane
