    3. To Dennis: "SHUTTS ?? Did you say SHUTTS ??" Re: Schut, Schuts, Shutts, of Hannibal, Oswego County, New York My grandmother, Eva Dell Shutts Palmer, did quite a bit of research and gathering of information on her family line. Then in the 1970's my mother became interested in the research and started bringing it up to date, now it's my turn. I have several filing cabinets of papers containing family information, a new computer with a genealogy program, and the time to do the data entry . . . I'm just overwhelmed. I don't know where or how to begin. Please bear with me while I try to make sense of this. My SHUTTS research files begin with: 1. Jan Willemszen Schuts, the original settler, from Holland, a cooper, m. Grietje Dirks. One son. 2. Willem Jansen Schut, b. 1640, lived for a while in the Albany area. m. Grietje Jacobs. In 1658, moved to Wildwyck (Kingston). 10 children. 3. Jan Willem Schut, b. 1667, m Mary Ter Bos before Sept. 18, 1695. 5 children. 4. Johannes Schut, b. 1699, m. Maria Cool, 1722, at Albany, NY. Of the 12 children, 4 were boys: Jonas, John 2nd, Abram, & Peter 8. Jonas Shutts, b. Mar. 18, 1814, d. Aug.10, 1897. (My ancestor) 1st m. 1834, Clarisa Demott, 1817 - June 17, 1840. 3 children 2nd m. I have the Registers of those meetings - of who was there, what was done, the date, place and births, deaths, & marriages. What is the name of your sister-in-law's father? We have more names than I'm entering here, due to space. If you are interested in specifics just let me know, I'll check the files. Bette in GA [email protected] P.S. To the list receivers .... I apologize for the length of this response. I thought someone else may want to know some of the information.

    3. Bette, I believe her father's name is Roger Shutts Sr., and he still lives in Hannibal. He would be elderly, probably in his eighties. He had one son and at least three daughters. Does this connect with any one you have ? I'll ask my sister-in-law if she would like me to pursue this line further, so hold off on anymore names until I speak with her Dennis On Friday, November 14, 2003, at 03:42 PM, Marian Steward wrote: > > My grandmother, Eva Dell Shutts Palmer, did quite a bit of research > and gathering of information on her family line. 3. Dennis: Of course I have heard of - Roger Shutts. Son of Charles and Mattie Chase Shutts Grandson of Simeon and Alice Kennedy Shutts Great-grandson of Abram and Eliza Cleveland Shutts By the way, I discovered my typing error for Eliza Cleveland. She was born 1830. She married my great-great-grandfather (her brother-in-law) as his 3rd wife. I have a picture of her on the front steps of the brick home on Hwy. 104, the road towards Oswego from Hannibal Last month I had lunch at the "site" at the Hannibal Library with the Seniors, including Roger.
