It's hard to describe just how frustrating this can be and I have tremendous admiration for the LDS in general. I went to catalog, then place then 'ny' and it came up with two odd references. If I do place then 'new york' then scroll down a list, I did see a link for the New York state census. I just went back to the list of NY censuses, clicked on 1915 and expected to see a list of counties with St. Lawrence county included. I see Bronx, Broome, Erie and Columbia listed but *none* of the dozens of other NY counties one might expect and no 'page forward' or indication of more records. I'll re-read some of these note posted and revisit this issue tomorrow. I appreciate all the notes. To be honest, this is a lame, non-intuitive search mechanism which would likely mislead many people who try to use it. This has happened every time I've tried to come up with microfilm info at the LDS site. They should let the general public try some searches, see how the public does it and make the results fit. I'm not new to this, I am a computer programmer by trade and have done various searches for years. Go to library after getting to familysearch.org, then to catalogue, place search, type in New York, then click on census (top of list) and scroll down to Oswego (or other counties) and find the film notes to what you want. I have found these "5 - year) census very helpful because they list the family relationship and in 1865, the Civil War service and deaths. Russ, The same applies to my attempts to LDS. No success - or what is there is limited!
